Suvinder Vicky, the talented actor known for his roles in 'Kohrra' and 'Satluj', has opened up about his experience working on the intense and abusive scenes in 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge'. In a recent interview, Vicky revealed the collaborative process behind crafting these challenging scenes, highlighting the director's role in maintaining a delicate balance between artistic expression and sensitivity.
Vicky's portrayal of a police officer in 'Kohrra' showcased his ability to take on bold and complex characters. However, his role in 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' presented a different set of challenges. The film's intense and abusive scenes required a careful approach, especially when working with a fellow actor like Arjun Rampal, who had prior experience with the director on 'Satluj'.
During the interview, Vicky shared that he and Rampal had a good working relationship, which made the process smoother. He recalled warning Rampal about the abusive dialogues in the film, to which Rampal responded, 'It is part of life, camera ke samne faad de' (It's part of life, just give it your all in front of the camera).
Vicky credited the director, Aditya Dhar, and the writing team for their handling of the abusive scenes. He noted that the script was well-written, and he didn't have to improvise much. However, he did suggest playing a muted version of his role, joking that his entire dialogue would be replaced with a beep. Dhar, however, assured him that nothing would be cut, and he took a firm stance on not crossing certain boundaries.
The actor shared that Dhar drew a line when it came to abusive language, saying, 'He said we will not go to mothers and sisters. It is also our responsibility to not hurt sentiments in films.' This highlights the director's commitment to maintaining a respectful and sensitive approach to the material, even in a film that deals with intense and abusive themes.
'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' was a massive success, grossing over Rs 3,200 crore worldwide, making it one of the highest-earning Indian film franchises.
